Modern log construction techniques
Today's log houses combine traditional aesthetics with modern requirements for insulation and comfort. We use dried materials that minimise settling, and modern machinery ensures precision in every cut. But the fundamental craft – understanding the timber and how it behaves – is something no machine can replace.
- •Material quality
- •We hand-pick timber from standing forest, primarily pine and spruce from higher-altitude areas where the trees grow slowly and develop a dense, strong structure. Every tree is assessed for quality, and only the very best is selected for our projects.
- •Slow-growing spruce and pine from the high mountains
- •Carefully controlled moisture content in the timber
