There are many criteria to be met when buying your dream cabin. For Kim Hansen and his family, this was no exception. There had to be easy access to ski and alpine slopes, as well as facilities such as restaurants and cafés.
After years of deliberation
After a few years of deliberation and speculation, the Hansen family fell for an Øverbygg cabin at Kvitfjell. The path there turned out to be a seamless process.
Travel distance was important
With two children aged 6 and 2, the travel distance played a major role. 'We set a limit of three hours' travelling time, but wanted something around 2.5 hours. As my wife is Irish, we have family in Ireland and the USA, so other transport options were important.'
The family in Ireland can now take the train from Gardermoen to Ringebu, which makes it very easy to travel here.
Peace and feeling
«We wanted a proper cabin that gave us peace and a sense of feeling – and log construction gave us exactly that,» says Kim. The result was a warm and welcoming cabin that the family uses actively, both summer and winter.
