We decided to buy a house in 2016. After three years of planning, construction began in 2019, and we moved in in 2020. The delivery from Øverbygg included the Bergsåsen residential house and an annexe that was converted into a gallery-corridor building for guests.
Our criteria
Our criteria for the house purchase included the wish for a house in solid wood or timber, one that was not too large and that met lifelong-living standards. The positioning of the house, the annexe and the garage on the plot was also important to us.
Why Øverbygg?
We chose Øverbygg because we had previously had a cabin in the mountains built to the same concept, and it was of good quality. When we discovered that the company that supplied that cabin had merged with Øverbygg, we became aware of the house models they offered.
We found Bergsåsen, which suited our needs after some adjustments in the design phase.
What has it been like living in the house?
It has been very good. It is easy to keep warm, and we have had a warm and comfortable winter. The house is very well insulated, and we have not had any problems with damp or condensation.
We are extremely pleased with our choice and would recommend Øverbygg to anyone considering building in log construction.
